Afterpay is one of Australia’s most popular buy now, pay later platforms. It lets you get what you need today and pay it off in four equal fortnightly instalments, completely interest free when you pay on time.

How Afterpay Works at Midas

Using Afterpay at Midas is simple. Here’s how it works: 

  1. Book your car service – online or in store at a participating Midas centre.
  2. Choose Afterpay at checkout – select Afterpay as your payment method when bookingonline orlet our team know in store. 
  3. Pay in 4 instalments – your total is split into four equal fortnightly payments, interest free when paid on time. 
  4. Drive away today-your car is serviced now. Afterpay handles the rest.

How to get started with Afterpay

Paying with Afterpay is easy. Download the Afterpay app from the App Store or Google Play to get started. 

To set up an Afterpay account you’ll need to: 

  • Live in Australia or New Zealand 
  • Be over 18 years of age 
  • Have an Australian or New Zealand debit or credit card 
  • Have a valid and verifiable email address and mobile number 
  • Be capable of entering into a legally binding contract 
  • Note that credit checks apply

Car Service Afterpay FAQs:

Are There Any Fees? 

Afterpay is interest free when you pay on time. Late fees apply as follows: 

  • Orders under $40: a one-time late fee of up to 25% of the order total 
  • Orders of $40 or more: a $10 late fee when a payment is missed, plus an additional $7 if the balance remains unpaid after 7 days
  • Late fees are capped at 25% of the order value or $68, whichever is lower. 

Afterpay will send you payment reminders and offer options to reschedule upcoming payments to help you stay on track. 

Is Afterpay Accepted In-Store? 

You can use Afterpay at participating Midas service centres in store. Here’s how: 

  • Download the Afterpay app and set up your Afterpay Card via the ‘In-Store’ tab 
  • Add it to your digital wallet – Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay 
  • When you’re ready to pay at the Midas service desk, simply tap to pay 

To use Afterpay when booking online, select Afterpay as your payment method at checkout and you’ll be redirected to complete your payment through the Afterpay platform.

Is Afterpay safe to use?

Afterpay has been built with a range of security features including monitoring transactions, multi-factor authentication, and encryption. See Afterpay’s safety and security page. 

What Happens if I Need a Refund? 

Items purchased with Afterpay can be returned for an exchange or refund, subject to Midas’ Returns Policy. Returns or refunds will be processed and Afterpay will be advised. Your payment plan will be adjusted. If you’ve already made a payment, this will be refunded via Afterpay.
